History

MIT hosted its first Science Bowl tournament in 2016, providing a home to the Northeast Regional Middle School Science Bowl. In 2019, we hosted our first high school invitational, with questions sets written by our board members. The middle school Regionals and high school invitationals have been held annually ever since.

2023-24

The 2024 middle school regional competition, held in-person, featured 14 teams from six schools. It was won by William Diamond Middle School.

The 2023 High School Invitational, held in-person, featured 36 teams from 26 schools across 11 states participating in six groups. It was won by University High School.

2022-23

The 2023 middle school regional competition, held in-person, featured 15 teams from seven schools. It was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School, who went on to place 2nd at the national competition!

The 2022 High School Invitational, held in-person, featured 26 teams representing 15 schools across 10 states competing in five groups. It was won by Enloe High School 1.

2021-22

The 2022 middle school regional competition, held virtually, featured 14 teams from seven schools. It was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School, who went on to place 2nd at the national competition!

The 2021 High School Invitational, held virtually, featured 47 teams representing 38 schools across 23 states competing in eight groups. It was won by Basis Independent Silicon Valley.

2020-21

The 2021 middle school competition was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School, who went on to win the national competition!

The 2020 MIT Science Bowl Invitational, held virtually, was won by North Hollywood High School.

2019-20

The 2020 middle school competition was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School, who went on to place 2nd at the national competition!

The first MIT Science Bowl Invitational for high schoolers was won by The Westminster Schools.

2018-19

The 2019 middle school competition was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School, who went on to win the national competition!

2017-18

The 2018 middle school competition was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School.

2016-17

The 2017 middle school competition was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School. 

2015-16

The 2016 middle school competition was won by Jonas Clarke Middle School.
